The Phil is a philanthropic society of the Joplin Regional Community Foundation. Members combine their annual contributions to fund high-impact grants that support nonprofit organizations and initiatives improving the quality of life in the Joplin region.
Local nonprofit organizations serving the Joplin region are invited to submit proposals for projects that address meaningful community needs.
The Phil Impact Committee evaluates submissions, considering community impact, feasibility, and long-term benefit.
A small group of organizations is chosen as finalists and invited to share more about their projects with Phil members.
Members of The Phil review the finalist proposals and participate in a secure electronic ballot to determine which projects will receive funding.
Grant recipients are announced and celebrated at the annual Phil Award Luncheon, where the community gathers to recognize the organizations making a difference in the Joplin region.

Each year, nonprofit organizations serving the Joplin region are invited to apply for funding through The Phil.
Grant opportunities are focused on projects that address meaningful community needs and have the potential to create lasting impact. Applications are reviewed by the Phil Impact Committee, and selected finalists may be invited to present their proposals before members vote to determine grant recipients.
