JRCF-Phil---Primary---RGB 1 (1)

The Phil is a philanthropic society of the Joplin Regional Community Foundation. Members combine their annual contributions to fund high-impact grants that support nonprofit organizations and initiatives improving the quality of life in the Joplin region.

How The Phil Works

The Phil brings together individuals and families who are passionate about strengthening the Joplin community. Each year, members contribute to a shared grantmaking fund. Local nonprofit organizations are invited to submit proposals addressing key community needs. After a review process, selected finalists present their ideas, and members vote to determine which projects will receive funding.

By combining many contributions into a single fund, The Phil is able to award grants large enough to help organizations launch new programs, expand services, or tackle important community challenges in meaningful ways.

Membership

Membership in The Phil offers an opportunity to be part of a collaborative approach to local philanthropy. Members contribute annual dues that go directly toward building the grantmaking pool. They also participate in the process of reviewing proposals, learning about community needs, and voting on which projects will receive funding. The Phil is intentionally limited in size to create a close-knit philanthropic community focused on thoughtful, high-impact giving.

For individuals and families who want to be actively involved in shaping the future of the Joplin region, The Phil provides a unique and meaningful way to give.
